About the PTA

The PTA is an organization that provides educational and enriching programs and services for all children at Red Oak School and offers support to teachers and staff. Volunteering for the PTA is an excellent way for parents to become involved in their child’s school and his or her education. It is also an opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors. There are many ways you can support the PTA—volunteer to help in the Library or Art room, help serve lunch on Food Days, become a room parent, join a committee, or donate time or money. We welcome and encourage you to get involved!

Here are some examples of events and programs the PTA provides for each year.

  • Provide for school assemblies, author visits and field trips

  • Fulfill teacher wish lists and help purchase new books for the library

  • Organize after-school classes, create yearbooks and sell spirit wear

  • Organize family events such as the Locker Visit, Bingo Night, Skate Night, Book Fair, Spring Dance and Year-end Picnic

  • Room moms will help organize holiday and year end class gifts. The PTA will be providing holiday gifts to all staff members in December and will organize a staff appreciation week in May.

Membership dues are only $15 per family. This covers the cost to print the Buzz Book and fees that the PTA incurs. With your PTA membership, you will receive a complimentary copy of the buzz book.

We encourage you to attend our PTA meetings. A list of those meeting dates and times will be published in our monthly newsletter and are on the calendar on this site.

We encourage you to attend the many family events we host throughout the year. These events are not only fun but they help raise funds for our school. Information about all of the Red Oak PTA events will be published in the newsletter, posted on the PTA website and communicated via emails.
